WILKO PAY CLAIM 2019

Dear Colleagues,

Since the last GMB pay update in April we’ve had two further meetings with Wilko and an improved and final offer has been tabled by the company. The GMB negotiating team believe this is the best offer that can be achieved through negotiations and we will be balloting GMB members on the offer.

Proposed Final Pay Offer

Level 1 (aged 25 and over) – pay increase of 29 pence per hour. An increase from £8.00 per hour to £8.21 per hour was from April 19 to comply with National Living Wage. A further 8 pence per hour would be payable from 1st June 2019.

Level 1 (under 25) – pay increase of 30 pence per hour payable from 1st June 2019

Level 2’s and above – pay increase of 29 pence per hour payable from 1st June 2019

Head Office non-executive roles

Under 25’s – pay increase of 30 pence per hour payable from 1st June 2019

Aged 25 and over – pay increase of 29 pence per hour payable from 1st June 2019.

Please note – the pay offer is from 1st June 2019 and there is no backdating to 1st April.

Benefits & Working Practices – Part of the pay offer also includes the following:

£10 Celebratory voucher
No stores to trade on New Year’s Day this year, subject to any specific lease terms that require us to trade. We are not currently aware of any.
Team Member discount – No change – to remain at 20%.

Next Steps

In the next few weeks, GMB Union will be conducting a ballot of GMB members in distribution, head office and retail. Further details on the timetable for the pay ballot will be issued shortly.
